The Truth About Superman

                                                            SUPERMAN

Everybody knows that Superman is an alien from Krypton. He was sent to Earth when he was an infant during his planet at war. His alter identity is Clark Kent and becomes associated with Lois Lane. But do we know the true origin of Superman?

Tragic Origin

Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the geeky type teenagers in the 1930s. In 1932, Mitchell Siegel- the father of Jerry died horribly during a night-time robbery at a secondhand clothes store. Police reported there was a gunshot, but actually he died of heart attack. In a short period, the 17 year-old created a bulletproof, unbreakable and indestructible superhero. In one of their first sketches, Superman was rescuing a person held up by a masked robber. However, Joe never mentioned anything about his father incident during his interview. But think about it, it is a coincidence that after the tragedy, Superman was suddenly created?

Superman becomes a symbol of strength and hope, which is vital in that period. Comic books are used to spread ideology, beliefs, and propaganda. Crime rate rose up rapidly and gangsters were taking over the streets. Citizens need a hero, so they can stand up and become braver, that is why Superman becomes popular until now because he is relevant. He brings the symbol of justice and a sense of relieve. Joe created him so other people do not feel what he felt.

They sold Superman comic book rights to DC for only $130. Superman becomes bigger and more popular, and they tried to win back the rights for Superman. DC gives Joe and Jerry a $20,000  every year and their names are credited at the end of every Superman's movie.
