How Bojack Horseman Is All Of Us
BOJACK HORSEMAN
Bojack |
Bojack Horseman is a american adult cartoon sitcom created by Rapahel Bob-Waksberg. The series was aired in August 2014 and still running till now. Critics give a pleasant review although there were mixed stance at the beginning of the season.
What I love the most about this series is how relatable the main character, Bojack is to everyone else. Bojack is a popular sitcom actor in the 90's but somehow his current career is dead and almost buried. Bojack seems very pleasant and delightful in his sitcom and looks like he is living the dream right now, in his mansion with all the wealth. But deep inside, he is miserable. This trait is more obviously seen when his career is dying.
He wants everybody loves him. This is the ugly truth, everyone suffers. Bojack has everything yet he cannot find happiness in his life. He is very messy and vulnerable, he keeps making promises he can't keep so he can stay relevant. The way he manipulates other people for his gain, never listens to any of their advice shows how arrogant he is. He did this just to be accepted and portrayed well by the media. A rich actor living a melancholic life just to look great infront of society. Why he can't be content? At a young age we think luxury is happiness. However, Bojack just shows us money really don't buy happiness.
Why? Why he has to please others? He is a star, of course he can't reveal how he is in real life. In a scene, He was recording a sitcom, he was really jovial on camera but once it was turned off, he swapped to this depressed adult. We all did it. We pretend to be happy infront of everyone but only ourselves know we didn't. We don't want to look weak and lame to others, so we created another character. For example on social medias, we watched people living their life to the fullest, but are they?
